This greenfield site posed challenges due to poor ground conditions. Peat was removed from the site and underground bunding introduced at the site’s perimeter to ensure the water table of the surrounding land was not impacted. The site was filled with stone and vibro compacted before the build could commence. A new co-op convenience store was constructed with 23 parking spaces, HGV loading area and a new entrance off the A6 with new road layout on the A6 itself was also completed as part of the works.
